On Sunday July 20th at 0130 hours units were dispatched for a reported field fire in the 12900 block of Old Annapolis Road. RE153(Lt. Williamson), B156(FF Kennedy), U15(EMR Runkles), and D15(Lt. D15 established the Old Annapolis Road Command and requested a brush task force. A159(FF C. Kline) responded with 3 volunteers as part of the brush task force. B156 began a defensive attack, protecting exposures and limiting fire spread. Upon the arrival of more brush trucks, command had units shuttle water back to B156, which was the main attack unit. Crews from B156, U15, and RE153 worked to extinguish the blaze. Tankers were used to refill the brush trucks as the come back out to Old Annapolis Road. CCD1(Lowman) was the staging officer. The fire took over three hours to extinguish, with approximately 3000 gallons of water being used. A good job was done by all involved to extinguish this unique fire.
