In the early morning hours of December 12, a fire broke out near the Frederick fairgrounds. First arriving companies found a three-story building with smoke showing from the top floor. E153 was transferred to Station 3. While in route on the transfer a second alarm was sounded. E153, E152 and RS15 all responded on the second alarm. E153 and RS15 reported to the third floor and were tasked with opening up and checking for hotspots along with overhaul. Crew from New Market worked for about 1 hour before being released.
