Units Respond to Collision with Hazmat on I70

In the early hours of September 1st, 2014 Co.15 was alerted with the Ambulance, Rescue Squad and Engine for the report of a pedestrian struck, A159(EMT Mercandetti), RE153(LT Williamson), E152(Sgt Hanagan) and D15(LT Conaway) responded with a total of 13 Volunteers. First arriving E331(Capt Edwards) found a vehicle that was struck by a tractor and trailer, there were no occupants in the vehicle and only a single patient for transport. E331 had the command and requested assistance from SPOP50 (Ft. Detrick FD) for the removal of fuel from the vehicle and the containment of fuel. Units worked for over an hour until being placed in service.
