Welcome! The New Market District Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is always looking for dedicated Men & Women interested in making a difference in the community. Whether you’re interested in Fire & EMS or you’d like to serve in more of an Administrative capacity in the future – we’d be happy to hear from you! We are a full service department, housing 2 Engine Companies, a Rescue Squad, 2 Ambulances, a Brush Truck, 2 Boats (Swift Water and Dive) and several support vehicles. Located within the Town of New Market in Frederick County, Maryland – we’re uniquely located on the borders of three additional counties; Montgomery County, Carroll County and Howard County.
Within our First Due (primary response area) we have pretty much every type of construction, terrain and roadway you can think of – including several bodies of water within the Lake Linganore Communities.
On average, we annually respond to just under 2,000 calls for service per year. However, with the current plan to develop several more communities within our area over the next few years, that number will inevitably continue to grow over time.
Strategically located within yards of Interstate 70, we’re only a short drive to several Colleges and Universities as well as many attractions in and around the Baltimore & DC Areas.
Junior Membership
Aside from regular membership in the company, we also offer a Junior Membership for those individuals who are less than 16 years old and at least 10 years old. This membership class, pending parents written approval at time of application and subsequent approval by the body of the membership, gives those members the chance to learn valuable life skills while continuing to focus on their academics. This is a great way for school service hours and to start helping you local volunteer fire company. At the age of 16 individuals can apply for Probationary Membership and start official MFRI training and staffing as a Probationary member.
