On Saturday October 22nd units were alerted for smoke coming from an abandoned house in the 9700 block of Green Valley Road. First arriving units found a two story farmhouse with smoke showing from the roof area. Chief 17(More) arrived and assumed command, advising all units it would be a defensive attack. Company 15 was alerted to complete the first alarm assignment and ET154(Lawson) responded with 5 personnel. Command then asked for the rapid intervention dispatch and the tanker task force. ET154 assisted in setting up water supply and drafting operations. After approximately one hour command made the decision to let the fire burn itself out. Command cleared the majority of the box and held some units to stand by at the scene. At approximately 6:00 pm command decided to knock down the fire with all the water remaining on scene. Wagon pipes were used to knock down the majority of the fire and units cleared shortly thereafter.
