On Saturday morning at approximately 0825 hours New Market and surrounding companies were alerted for a vehicle fire impinging on the house in the 4800 block of East Hyatt Road. E152(Thews) and RE153(Yoder) responded with 7 personnel. First arriving E152 laid out from the end of the driveway and advised ECC that the vehicle was partially involved and there was no extension to the house. E152 assumed the East Hyatt Road Command and RE153 picked up E152's line. The crew of 4 put a quick knock on the fire after deploying a 200' crosslay. Command then held the assignment to company 15 units only. RE153's crew helped to check for extension by removing the melted siding and using a thermal imager to check the soffets and attic area. A fire marshal was requested to investigate and crews packed up and returned to service at 0930 hours. Good job by all in stopping this potentially dangerous fire.
