In the late evening hours Monday, November 14th New Market units were dispatched to Bussard Brother Landscape Supply on Green Valley Road for a mulch/debris pile on fire. E152(M. Thews), RE153(Kilby), B156(Renoll), C15(Yankey), and C15-1(Nalborczyk) responded with 11 personnel. First arriving E152 layed out from the hydrant at Green Valley Road and Baldwin Road, and advised ECC that the pile was well involved. RE153 picked up E152's line as E152 set up for deck gun operations. With the assistance of on-site bulldozers and personnel, Co. 15 crews knocked down the fire and turned over the material to soak it and prevent re-ignition. Crews operated for just over 2 hours before returning to service.
