January 16, 2014

On Thursday January 16th at 0545 hours Box 15-2 was dispatched for the house fire with a person trapped in the 5700 block of Foxwood Crossing in the Woodspring Community. RE153(Lt. Malta), ET154(Sgt. Chapman), A159(EMT Rosebrock), and C15-1(DFC Moe) responded on the box with 14 personnel. While enroute to the scene units were advised by ECC that they had the caller on the phone and she reported her house was on fire and she was unable to get out. A159 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the first floor of a two story single family home. RE153 arrived and the crew of six split up into two crews, one attempting the rescue, while the other worked on extinguishing the fire. BAT901(Healy) arrived and established the Command. C15-1 assumed the role of the Division 1 supervisor. RE153's crew located and removed the victim from the home and delivered the patient to A159's crew. The remainder of the crew located fire in the kitchen on the first floor of the home and make quick work of it. Crews worked to ventilate and check for extension. Command scaled the assignment back to 2 & 1 within thirty minutes. Crews remained on scene to assist with the investigation for a few hours. Good work by all inovlved.
