By Sgt Greg Lawson
June 2, 2011

Around 1300hrs today Co-15 units were dispatched to the 12000blk of Old National Pike for a BRUSH FIRE as units were leaving the station a LARGE column of smoke could be seen, ECC advised the home owner was burning trash and now her field was on fire, B-156 arrived and advised they had 3-4 acres of a hay field on fire moving fast towards a barn and a house, the brush truck requested the BRUSH TASK FORCE and 2 Additional TANKERS bringing additional units from Frederick, Carroll, and Montgomery counties, RE-153 arrived and laid 700ft of 4 inch supply line back the lane and pulled numerous lines with B-156 to protect the house and barn, as additional units arrived they were sent to the field, units had to back out and re-position numerous times due to fast moving fire and high winds a total of 5-6 acres were burnt and units were on the scene for several hours and then returned to service, a great job by all in the the high heat !!!

B-156 Sgt Lawson had the Old National Pike CMD and Carroll Chief 1-2 had water supply as B-255 LT Shook had the operations !!!!
